FLY SCREENS

Fly screens and fly doors will basically keep out the insects but do not offer any security. This product comprises of black woven mesh held in an aluminium frame with rubber spline. They are easy to see through from inside your home to the outside. They are very affordable compared to security screens.

The fly mesh used is a fiberglass mesh, cheap and easy to replace if damaged.

Other meshes available include:

Midgee Mesh – A fiberglass mesh with smaller holes to keep out the small insects.

Pet Mesh – A stronger and thicker mesh with an acrylic coating to help when pets paw at the mesh.

Aluminium Mesh – Metal fly mesh used in homes that need screens that are fire rated due to being close to bushland.

7mm DIAMOND GRILLE

This product is one of the most popular security products on the market. It is much cheaper than some of the other options for security.

7mm Diamond Grill security should meet the Australian Security Standard A127. This is the minimum required standards to which it can be manufactured to.

The Aluminium Diamond Pattern Grille is 7mm thick. It is riveted every 3rd diamond (more than the Australian Standard requirement) into an aluminium frame with fly screen mesh behind.

COLOUR – The colour of the frame and the grille is usually the same colour as your window or door frame of which the screen is going into.

LOOK OF SECURITY SCREENS – Some people find the main issue they have with the diamond grille is that it obstructs their view. For this concern we suggest that you use black grille which will reduce how much the grille stands out as our eyes adjust to see through the black easier.
